Distribution of other fuel gases

Other fuel gases are gases used as energy sources, other than natural gas.

The distribution of other fuel gases is the transfer of heat or other fuel gases through the distribution system and also includes supply to final consumers.

Applies for SKD:

  • Distribution of gaseous fuels through mains D35.220

Conditions

  • Heat and other energy gas distribution activity may be carried out as:

    •  a selected local public utility service or
    • market distribution.

     If a distributor supplies over 100 households, heat distribution may only be carried out as a public utility service.

    Heat and other energy gas distribution activity may be carried out as a public utility service also when permanent and uninterrupted heat and other energy gas supply is in the public interest to meet the needs of the public.

    Legal basis

  • A distributor must for the heat distribution and the distribution of other energy gases as market distribution acquire the consent of the local community for the area where market distribution will be implemented.

    If the investor starts building the distribution system within two years following the issue of the consent, the local community can revoke the consent.

    Details

  • Prior to the commencement and after the termination of the pursuit of the heat and other energy gas distribution activity in a certain distribution system, operators must inform the Agency about this.

    The Agency keeps records of providers of heat and other energy gas distribution activity.

Cross-border/temporary provisions of activity

Performance of the activity in Slovenia is possible on cross-border/temporary basis. Acquisition of permits is not required prior to commencing the service.
