For the implementation of fisheries management, the concessionaire must employ professionally qualified workers who conduct the tasks of manager, electro-fishing service provider and a fishery keeper. If the concessionaire also owns a fish farm, the implementation of tasks of a fish farmer must also be ensured.

A fisheries manager may be any citizen of the Republic of Slovenia who is over 18 and passed an examination for the professional training of a worker carrying out the tasks of a fisheries manager.

An electro-fishing service provider may be any citizen of the Republic of Slovenia who is over 18 and who has passed an examination for the professional training of a worker carrying out the tasks of an electro-fishing service provider.

A fishery keeper may be any citizen of the Republic of Slovenia who is over 18 and has had a fishing permit for three years and has passed the fishery keeper’s examination.

For the needs of a fishing district, a fish farmer may be any citizen of the Republic of Slovenia who is over 18 and who has passed an examination for the professional training of a worker carrying out the tasks of a fish farmer.

Detailed information on the conditions for the pursuit of the activity:

• Commercial fishing ponds,
• Fishing management,
• Stripping of wild indigenous fish species.

• Decree on supplementary activities in agriculture

  A supplementary farm activity may be implemented after the finality of the permit for the pursuit of supplementary farm activity and after all conditions determined by the sector regulations for pursuing an individual supplementary activity are fulfilled.

  Applicable to the following activities/services:

  • sports fishing on water surfaces on farms.

• catching freshwater crayfish, molluscs;
