Professional training and testing of executive railway workers

Professional training entails systematic provision of knowledge, conduct and skills that a candidate must master to perform the tasks for the job of an executive railway worker. Such qualification entails professional knowledge and the ability to use the acquired knowledge in practice.

Professional training entails: 

• theoretical and practical training and education for executive railway jobs and jobs of executive railway workers on industrial tracks;
• acquiring general professional knowledge for the train driver and track vehicles driver jobs.

Professional training and testing general professional knowledge, theoretical training and education is performed by training entities which are determined by the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Railway Transport (AŽP) with an administrative decision. The training entity issues a certificate of successful training.

Practical training and education are implemented by the employer who is an operator, transporter or entity employing an executive railway worker on industrial tracks. After a successfully passed practical training, the employer issues a certificate.
