Activity of membership organisations for disabled persons (94.991)

This SCA code includes activities and services for which entrance and/or other conditions for the commencement of an activity are established. 

Regulations and conditions:

  • Disabled People's Organisation Act

Disabled people's organisations are societies operating in the public interest in the field of the protection of the disabled. These organisations require a decree that grants them the status of a disabled people's organisation and they must be registered into the register of disabled people's organisations.

The Disabled People's Organisation Act provides that the necessary social programmes and the life of a particular group of disabled people require the use of a professionally qualified personnel;

Support services for disabled people during rehabilitation and with employment may be offered also by people who don’t meet the above conditions, but hold a certificate concerning a vocational qualification or other suitable supporting documents concerning the qualification for performing such works.

A disabled people's organisation must perform at least one special social programme supporting the independent life of a particular group of disabled people.

Activities/services which are classified in this subclass of the standard classification of activities:

Activities according to explanations to the standard classification of activities:

  • disabled people joining membership organisations based on their interest and due to congenital or acquired disabilities and handicaps, dependent on and created by the physical and social environment, cannot take care of their personal, family or social life, partially or entirely, in the environment in which they live;
  • performing various activities and special social programmes according to the principles of the independent life of disabled people, such as:
  • enforcing the human rights of disabled people,
  • training for active life and work,
  • supplementary education and the conservation of health,
  • adjusted transportation,
  • informative, publishing and cultural activities;
  • supply of technical accessories, personal aid;
  • various forms of self-help and volunteer work with disabled people, preventing and mitigating the social and psychological consequences of disability, 
  • advocacy,
  • temporary accommodation,
  • preventing and eliminating obstacles in the physical and social environment,
