Fire protection services provision
Fire protection tasks encompass the research, training, planning measures for fire protection, supervision, fire insurance, fire fighting, technical supervision of installed fire protection systems, chimney sweeping services, property fire protection etc.
The goal of activities and measures of fire protection is to protect people, animals, property and the environment against fire and explosions.
The right to carry out fire protection is acquired by authorisation. The authorisation is issued by the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief.
The authorisation for carrying out fire protection measures encompasses authorisations for:
- organisation and implementation of safety at work training;
- fire safety order preparation, fire protection plan and evacuation plan;
- implementation of other safety at work measures.
The activity can be carried out by natural and legal entities, sole entrepreneurs or individuals who perform the activity individually, if they fulfil the prescribed conditions.
Fire protection includes technical and physical fire protection. It can be carried out by legal entities with the licence to protect property and the authorisation to carry out fire protection.
Technical fire protection encompasses the supervision of the signal transfer from the installed active fire protection system in the protection facility to the security control centre. It is performed by persons with acquired national vocational qualification: SCC operator. Physical fire protection encompasses preventive inspections of the protected facility. It is carried out by a person with the acquired national vocational qualification: security officer.
The fire protection plan is part of the contract on fire protection and is implemented for each facility separately.
The fire protection services provider prepares an intervention report on intervention or other necessary measures in an individual protected facility.
Fire protection services provider prepares an annual report on the implementation of fire protection, which is sent to the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief until 31 March for the previous year.
Fire fighting units carry out the fire protection activity within the scope of mandatory public service.
Fire protection of most endangered industrial and other business facilities where there is at least medium to high danger of fire, can be implemented on the basis of contracts with companies by professional or volunteer fire fighting units who must reach the area of the fire protected facility with their intervention team in ten minutes at the latest, whereby the head office of such units cannot be more than 5 km away from the protected facility.
Fire protection of more endangered industrial and other business facilities can be implemented on the basis of contracts by fire fighting units.
