Growing and marketing beneficial organisms for the purpose of biological plant protection biotičnega varstva rastlin
For the purpose of biological plant protection, indigenous and non-indigenous species of organisms on the list of indigenous species and the list of non-indigenous species are used. These are beneficial organisms, such as living natural enemies, antagonists, or competitors, and their products and other organisms that are able to reproduce on their own, including those that are packaged or formulated as a commercial product for biological plant protection.
In order to grow and market indigenous species of organisms used for biological plant protection, a user must acquire a permit from the relevant competent authority. In order to grow and market non-indigenous species of organisms on the territory of the Republic of Slovenia, a permit from the relevant competent authority must be acquired which is issued with the approval of the ministry responsible for nature conservation. A Risk Assessment of the Introduction into Nature carried out by an authorised nature assessor who also assesses the impact of marketing must also be enclosed with the application, as well as the Introduction or Population Programme and the List of Recipients or Users of Non-Indigenous Species of Organisms.
