Implementation of trainings for the management of plant production products
The training for the management of plant protection products (PPP) is provided by contractors authorised by a competent authority who fulfil the prescribed conditions.
Contractors must provide a minimum number of trainings per year, take into account the restrictions regarding the number of participants of individual training, carry out the assessments of knowledge and verify the adequacy of applicants' education at the assessment of knowledge.
After a successfully passed examination, the contractor must issue the participant a card and enter him in the proper register.
Trainings may be conducted by lecturers who fulfil the prescribed conditions in individual expert fields of phytomedicine:
- plant protection measures against pests;
- PPP impacts on public health or
- PPP impacts on the environment.
Lectures must be given in the Slovenian language.
Professional users, PPP sellers and PPP advisers as well as other persons who want to acquire the certificate on the acquisition of knowledge in the field of phytomedicine must pass proper trainings to manage PPP.
The training for PPP management comprises basic and advanced training. The basic training includes the course and written examination in professional fields of phytomedicine. The advanced training includes the refresher course without an examination.

The providers of trainings for the PPP management which fulfil the prescribed conditions are selected with a public tender implemented by the competent authority.
A provider of trainings must provide suitable staff, facilities and technical equipment.
Selected providers receive a public authorisation for performing the trainings for PPP management for the period of 5 years. Mutual rights and obligations are stipulated by the competent authority and the provider with an agreement.
The competent authority enters authorised providers of trainings on the list accessible on the website of the competent authority. The list states the number and date of the decision on the authorisation and the company and head office or personal name and address for a sole trader.

The providers of training must enter the data on persons who completed the basic of advanced training in the records on the training within 30 days after the completed training. A register of the training is kept for the purpose of analysis and monitoring of the situation in the field of the training on PPP and to execute supervision The register of the training is electronically kept and managed by the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Food Safety, Veterinary Sector and Plant Protection. Providers of training enter the data in the register on the training. The training record includes the following data: personal name and address of the training participant, type of training (basic or advanced training), type of programme, date and result of the examination, date of issue and number of card, date of advanced training, personal name of the a person entering the data, personal name and address or company of the provider of training. The training record data are kept for two years after the expiry of the card. The providers of training must provide technical equipment to access the training record and constantly enter all changes.

The provider must invite application to one basic and two advanced trainings per year.

The provider of training invites applications for a restricted number of applicants, i.e. 60, for each implementation of training (basic and advanced).

The provider must verify the education of applicants in implementing the basic training for the PPP advisor and PPP seller.
Upon applying to the training, an applicant must submit the certificate of education to the provider of training. Only an applicant who fulfils the conditions regarding education, which are required for the PPP advisor or PPP seller as per the applicable legislation, may apply for the basic training for the PPP advisor or PPP seller.

After the finished course of basic training, a written examination is sat. The provider of training must provide at least three examination periods for an individual training programme.
The first examination period for written examination is published by the provider of training not before three days and not after 30 days after the concluded course. The last examination period is published within one year from the completion of the course at the latest.
The date of examination is published by the provider of training on the website of the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Food Safety, Veterinary Sector and Plant Protection. It should be published at least by the date that was published on the website of Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Food Safety, Veterinary Sector and Plant Protection as a foreseen date of the start of the training course.
The exam questions for written examination are prepared by the Administration according to the type of training and should include the prescribed content.

After successfully passed written examination, providers of trainings issue a card to the participant. In the case of advanced training, the provider of training extends the card validity.
The card is issued on the tow-part form on the A5 paper format and is white in colour.
The card is issued through the information system of the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Food Safety, Veterinary Sector and Plant Protection.
