Manufacture of soft drinks, production of mineral waters and other bottled waters (11.070)

• List of activities that are usually carried out as a craft

For activities listed on the List of activities usually carried out as a craft, business entities registering these activities must also enter in the register of crafts at the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia (OZS) ex officio.

This applies for the following activities/services:

• manufacture of non-alcoholic beverages, except non-alcoholic beer and wine;
• production of natural mineral waters and other bottled waters;
• manufacture of soft drinks;
• manufacture of non-alcoholic flavoured or sweetened waters: lemonade, orangeade, cola, ice teas, tonic waters etc.;
• manufacture of diluted fruit drinks (nectars).

• Regulation on the implementation of certain Community regulations in relation to food, food hygiene and official control of foodstuffs

  Decree on the implementation of certain Regulations (EC) concerning foodstuffs, hygiene of foodstuffs and official control of foodstuffs

Before placing foodstuffs on the market, the facilities in the area of production, processing and marketing foodstuffs are required to register in the register kept by the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Food Safety, Veterinary Sector and Plant Protection (UVHVVR).

• Waters Act

On the basis of the Waters Act it is necessary, among other things, to obtain a concession for the use of water to manufacture beverages.

The concession may be obtained by a physical person or a legal entity who meets the prescribed conditions.

The concession is awarded for a limited period; however for a period of maximum 50 years. The concession on behalf of the concession provider is granted by the government, in accordance with the provisions of this Act.

The designation 'natural mineral water' may be given to water with characteristics that differentiate it from drinking water.

Natural mineral water must be approved on the basis of the decision on the recognition of designation 'natural mineral water'.
