Manufacture of wine from grape (11.020)

Before placing foodstuffs on the market, the facilities in the field of production, processing and marketing of foodstuffs must be registered in the register kept by the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Food Safety, Veterinary Sector and Plant Protection (UVHVVR).

• Wine Act

Wine producers are entered in the register if they pursue at least one of the following activities:

• grape production; production of must and non-bottled wine;
• production of other products (condensed grape must, rectified concentrated grape must and other products from grape, must and wine if used in the production of must and wine);
• bottling of wine;
• service of bottling of wine;
• distilling products from grape and wine if implemented on the basis of the regulation governing the market of grapes, must and wine.

Prior to the commencement of the activity, grape and wine producers must be entered in the register at the competent administrative unit. The subjects liable for registration are producers of grapes and wine who cultivate 0.05 ha or more vineyards, or less if they trade in grapes, wine or other products from grapes and wine.

Suitable education or successfully completed training in the cellaring and bottling of wine is mandatory for pursuing the activity.

• List of activities usually carried out as a craft

For activities on the List of activities usually carried out as a craft, business entities registering these activities must also be entered in the register of crafts at the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia (OZS) ex officio.

Applies to the following activities/services:

• manufacture of wine;
• manufacture of sparkling wine;
• manufacture of wine from concentrated grape must;
• blending, purification and bottling of wine;
• manufacture of low- or non-alcoholic wine.

This includes:

• manufacture of wine;

• blending, purification and bottling of wine;
• manufacture of low- or non-alcoholic wine.
