Marine fishing (03.110)

This SCA code includes activities and services for which entrance and/or other conditions for the commencement and pursuit of an activity are established. 

Regulations and conditions:

  • Marine Fisheries Act

  • Commercial fishing is possible based on a permit issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food; legal or natural persons must fulfil the determined conditions. In the case of marine fishing, there is an obligation for commercial fishing or a permit for commercial fishing e.g.: entry in the register of fishing vessels managed by the MKGP, and fishermen/natural persons must be entered in the register of fishermen.

    A special permit for commercial fishing is a permit for commercial fishing in areas and in cases where and when commercial fishing is otherwise not permitted in accordance with this act and Community regulations.

    Fishing for scientific, research and educational purposes is carried out based on a permit for non-commercial fishing, which is issued for the duration of the implementation of individual scientific, research and educational tasks.

    Detailed information on the conditions for the implementation of the activity:

  • harvesting shellfish,
  • commercial sea fishing.

    Rules on the registration of primary producers’ establishments of food origin

    Before placing foodstuffs on the market, the facilities in the area of primary production must be entered in the register kept by the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Food Safety, Veterinary Sector and Plant Protection (UVHVVR).

Activities/services which are classified in this sub-class of the standard classification of activities:

This entails:
  • oceanic, marine and coastal fishing, whaling,
  • catching sea crabs, molluscs, harvesting sea shellfish,
  • sea animals like turtles, sea urchins, tunicates, sea sausages etc.

This also involves:

  • the preparation of fish on fishing boards,
  • the collection of sea organisms and items such as sponges, corals, algae, natural pearls etc.
