Implementation of postal services:

Postal services are implemented within the scope of postal and courier activities. Postal and courier activities comprise: receipt, forwarding, transfer and delivers (in internal or international postal traffic) of letter and package shipments by the provider of services outside the framework of the universal postal service, with different transfer possibilities; the activity may be implemented by private and public companies; delivery to the addressee's home; delivery of food without preparation.

Postal services may be performed by any natural or legal entity that sends a preliminary written or electronic notification to the Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia (AKOS).

Exchangeable postal services entail:

receipt, forwarding, transport and delivery of postal shipments up to 2 kg,
receipt, forwarding, transport and delivery of postal packages up to 10 kg,
registered and value postal shipments.

A preliminary written or electronic notification to the Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia (AKOS) is required for the implementation of exchangeable postal services. The competent authority issues a declaratory order based on the assessment of the postal services market analysis; subsequently, a contract on accessing the postal network must be concluded with Pošta Slovenije d.o.o.

Issue of postal pre-paid stationery

Postal prepaid stationery includes postage stamps and prepaid stationery issued according to the needs of postal transit. Pošta Slovenije d.o.o. has the exclusive right to issue postal prepaid stationery.
