Provision of training for safe handling of firearms
One of the conditions for obtaining a firearm licence is passing a test of firearms handling knowledge. A test of firearms handling knowledge is taken after the completion of firearms handling training.
Providers of training can be legal entities and sole proprietors who meet the personal, spatial/technical and personnel conditions, define the training programme in accordance with these Rules and obtain a permit from the Ministry of the Interior.
Applies for SKD:
- Other amusement and recreation activities n.e.c. R93.299
Conditions
-
Training providers can be legal entities and sole proprietors who meet the personal, spatial/technical and personnel conditions, define the training programme in accordance with these Rules and obtain a permit from the Ministry of the Interior.
The training provider must publish the dates and locations of the training on its website, i.e. indicate that the training of candidates will take place online. If the training of candidates is carried out online, the training provider must provide the inspectorate in charge of internal affairs with a link to the training at its request.
The provider issues a certificate of the completed training to a candidate that is attached to the application for a test of firearms handling knowledge. The certificate must contain:
- the name and address of the training provider,
- the name, surname and address of the candidate,
- the period of training,
- the number of hours of theoretical and practical training completed by the candidate and
- the date of the issuance of the certificate.
The issuance of a permit for the provision of training for safe handling of firearms is tied to the fulfilment of the required conditions; in addition, the responsible person of the legal entity or sole proprietor must be an adult, must have no public order concerns and must be responsible.
Revocation of permit
If the training provider no longer meets the required conditions, the ministry's permit will be revoked.
The permit is also revoked if it is determined during the inspection that the training provider no longer meets the conditions. The inspector sets a deadline within which the training provider must ensure compliance with the required conditions.
If the training provider does not fulfil the required conditions within the specified period, the competent inspectorate submits a proposal to the ministry to revoke the permit, and the ministry revokes the permit if it finds that the training provider does not meet the conditions referred to in the preceding paragraph.
Cross border/temporary provision of activity
Foreign legal entities may engage in cross-border/occasional provision of training for safe handling of firearms if they meet all of the prescribed conditions and obtain prior permission from the Ministry of the Interior.
