Regular maintenance of port infrastructure
Regular maintenance of port infrastructure, intended for public transport, at the port is a mandatory state public utility service implemented on the basis of a concession contract at a public company or public utility unit.
In the Republic of Slovenia, regular maintenance of port infrastructure is performed by the concessionaire based on a concluded concession contract.
Regular maintenance of port infrastructure means keeping port infrastructure in the state that is required for undisturbed performance of port activities.
Current maintenance and investment maintenance belongs under regular maintenance.
Port infrastructure is regularly maintained by eliminating the cause that could impact the stability, functionality and safety of individual parts of port infrastructure in time.
Regular maintenance of port infrastructure, intended for public transport, is financed from charges.
Port charges include:
- charge for the use of the port for vessels,
- site occupation charge,
- berth charge.
The concessionaire must prepare a regular maintenance plan for the port infrastructure.
