Authorisation for the provision of medical supervision of exposed workers

Medical supervision of exposed workers can be implemented by medical organisations or individuals who acquire appropriate authorisation.

The authorisation is acquired from the ministry competent for health, if they fulfil the following conditions:

  • they are qualified or employ a specialist medical practitioner in the field of occupational medicine with a valid licence, who is qualified for performing medical supervision of exposed workers;
  • they have appropriate equipment, premises and staff (own or contractual) for implementing medical supervision of exposed workers and
  • who acquire a positive opinion from the Slovenian Radiation Protection Administration based on the opinion of the Extended professional board for occupational medicine.

The authorisation is issued for a definite period, however, for maximum three years.
