Boat registration
Sea boats must be entered in the register of boats managed by the Slovenian Maritime Administration and its two branch units in Izola and Piran.
Inland waterway boats are entered in the register of inland waterway boats, managed by the administrative unit, where the boat is located and used.
The register of boats comprises:
- GENERAL LEDGER
The general ledger is composed of inserts. Each insert has sheet A, sheet B and sheet C. The main ledger can be managed as a computer database.
- COLLECTION OF DOCUMENTS
The collection of documents is managed for each boat separately and contains documents, based on which the boat is entered in the general ledger. The collection of documents is kept in a folder with indicated boat reference.
The boat owner submits a request for the entry of the boat at the Slovenian Maritime Administration, its branch or branch unit. The entry of the boat is implemented based on the established qualification of the boat for navigation. The request for the entry of the boat also includes the request for the issue of the navigation permit.
After the entry of the boat, the registration certificate and navigation permit are issued. The navigation permit is valid until the next regular inspection of the boat and can be extended if it is established that the boat is qualified for navigation.
Besides the administrative charge, the fee for boat measurement, costs for inspection and fee for the use of facilities for navigation safety must be settled. The costs are calculated with regard to the type, purpose and length of the boat.
