Entry in the register of works managers at the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia (OZS)
By entry in the register of works managers at the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia (OZS), the applicant obtains the professional title of works manager.
The register includes those persons:
- who have passed the master craftsman examination and thus meet the requirements for a master craftsman in construction, or
- who are holders of a crafts licence in construction activities.
Conditions

The applicant must have at least five years construction work experience, and must have completed a master craftsman exam from the field of construction work projects, e.g.:
- Joiner technician: if the works include construction works, e.g. installation of wooden windows and stairs etc.;
- Carpenter technician: carpenter works on construction works;
- Master builder: building on construction works;
- Master sign painter: sign painting on construction works;
- Master metal former: if the works include works on construction works, e.g. installation of railings, staircases, projecting roofs etc.;
- Master of general electro mechanics: if the works include works on construction works, e.g. installation of lifts, escalators etc.;
- Building glass master: if the works include works on construction works, e.g. installation of lifts, escalators etc.;
- Master of machine installations: for works from the field of machine installations;
- Master of electro installations: for electro installations on construction works;
- Master of telecommunications: for telecommunication works on construction works;
- Master painter: for painting of construction works;
- Master tinsmith-roofer: for tinsmithing and roofing on construction works;
- Master stonecutter: for stonecutting on construction works;
- Iron bending master: for iron bending on construction works;
- Master stove maker: for stove making on construction works;
- Master layer of ceramic line: for work in the field of laying ceramic lines,
The Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia offers a stamp for masters who perform particular works on construction works with which these masters may be identified as responsible conductors of particular works, i.e. works their master title refers to.
Evidence
For education obtained in Slovenia:
- Diploma or certificate – original, certified copy or non-certified copy with the possibility to see the original;
For education obtained in the EU:
- Diploma, certificate, other evidence of formal education obtained in the EU – original or certified copy with attached certified translation into Slovene;
- Evidence on the content and course of training including information about the duration and syllabus of the study programme, demonstrating the number of hours or credit points of individual subjects – original or certified copy with attached certified translation into Slovene;
For work experience:
- A written statement from an individual or business, which fulfils the conditions for a land surveyor prescribed by law, that the applicant has performed a certain type of land surveying services with them including the type and period of time of performing such services and also details of land surveyors the applicant cooperated with – original or certified copy with attached certified translation into Slovene.

Insurance against liability for damages that might be incurred by an investor or a third party in connection with the pursuit of architectural and engineering activities may be concluded as:
- a comprehensive guarantee, which shall be renewed annually; or
- as collateral for a particular transaction falling within the scope of the economic operator’s activity.
The insurance shall cover the liability for negligence resulting in damage or material defect and including among direct material damage (damage and destruction) also the costs directly required for the elimination or prevention of damage without the occurrence of any actual damage.
The damage that must be covered by insurance also includes:
- damage in the form of a reduction in the value of the business transaction or construction, and
- other damage resulting from a claim made by an investor or a third party.
The liability insurance must cover the damage for actions taken during the period of insurance or for actions for which a loss event notice has been filed during the period of the insurance.
The insurance amount for all insurance cases in a given year or for an individual transaction, if the insurance is taken out for a particular business operation, shall not be less than EUR 50,000.
The insurance policy must contain the following:
- the names of the certified architects and engineers covered by the insurance, or
- the general clause that the liability insurance covers all certified architects and engineers in the economic operator.
Insurance may also take the form of collective insurance through the Chamber.
Evidence
Proof of liability insurance shall be a document showing that liability insurance was established in the Republic of Slovenia or in a state party, under the condition that such insurance covers any damage caused in the Republic of Slovenia.
The competent authority shall accept as sufficient evidence a certificate to that effect issued by a bank or insurance undertaking of the Contracting State of origin. Where the competent authority has reasonable doubt as to the validity of older evidence, it may request that evidence not be older than three months.
