Licence for the use of radiation source
The licence for the use of radiation source and the certificate on the entry of the radiation source in the register of radiation sources is issued by the authority competent for nuclear safety, if it involves the source of radiation used in health care, if it involves veterinary practice it must be issued by the authority competent for radiation safety.
The licence for the use of radiation source must be acquired for:
- sealed source of radiation, where the activity or specific activity by 10 times exceeds the level of exemption for the activity or specific activity;
- device with sealed source of radiation where the speed of dosage, measured 10 cm from any access surface of the device where the sealed source of radiation is located, exceeds 1 µSv/h;
- electrical device that operates at a voltage higher than 30 kV, except for electronic microscopes;
- unsealed source of radiation, the activity of which exceeds the level of exemption under the second column of Table 1 of the annex to the Regulation on radiation activities.
