Public authorisation for conducting laboratory analyses for performing the inspection supervision of the trade and use of PPP

The competent authority awards the public authorisation to the laboratories which were selected on the basis of a public tender and have acquired an accreditation document and participate in international laboratory schemes.

The public tender determines detailed criteria for the selection of contractors for conducting specific types of analyses in the field of PPP. After the conducted public tender, the competent authority issues a decision on the selection of the laboratory for the implementation of a specific type of analyses in the field of PPP.

Mutual rights and obligations are stipulated by the competent authority and the laboratory with an agreement.

The competent authority authorises the laboratory for the period of five years.

Conditions

These terms apply to activity Implementation of laboratory supervision of the trade and use of plant protection products (PPP)

  • Applicants who wish to pursue this activity must register the business activity, and have the appropriate legal status.

  • The laboratory analyses for conducting inspection supervision of the trade and use of PPP may be carried out only by laboratories which acquired the accreditation document issued by the Slovenian Accreditation Institute or an accreditation service of other Member State has signed an agreement on the mutual recognition of accreditations with the European Accreditation.

     

    The Slovenian Accreditation Institute is determined as a national accreditation authority as per the Accreditation Act. The accreditation means the confirmation of the competence according to the international accreditation rules.

     

    The contracting authority expresses an interest for the acquisition of accreditation. At the interview it receives basic information on the accreditation and explanation of the proceeding from the accreditation authority. This is followed by the formal application which the applicant fills out on a special form and the signing of the contract between the applicant and the accreditation authority which determines the rights and obligations of both contracting parties. This is followed by the assessment visit conducted by the assessment team. The assessment usually establishes certain deficiencies which are expressed through non-compliance that should be eliminated in a specific period. When the applicant proves the fulfilment of all requirements for the accreditation, it is awarded the accreditation document.

     

    The price of accreditation is determined as per the Rules on the tariff system for public services of the Slovenian Accreditation Institute.
