Recognising vocational qualifications for private protection
There is an Act that regulates the recognition of qualifications from nationals of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation to enable them to conduct regulated professions or activities in the Republic of Slovenia.
An application from a Slovenian national that has acquired a professional or vocational qualification abroad is assessed under the same conditions as applicable to foreign persons.
Before starting private security services in the Republic of Slovenia, on the basis of an application of a person, the Ministry of the Interior compares their qualifications with the qualifications required in the Republic of Slovenia, and decides in accordance with the act regulating the procedure for recognising vocational qualifications.
A foreign individual from a third country who has acquired the right to perform private security in their own country may perform private security in the Republic of Slovenia under the same conditions that apply to foreign persons in accordance with the principle of reciprocity.
