• Financial Instruments Market Act

Investment services and operations may be implemented in the Republic of Slovenia by:

• a brokerage company that has obtained an authorisation from the Agency;
• an investment firm in a member state which is not a bank or a special financial institution and which establishes a subsidiary in the Republic of Slovenia as per this Act, or which is entitled to conduct direct investment services and operations in the Republic of Slovenia as per this Act;
• a subsidiary of an investment firm in a member state which is not a bank and which obtains authorisation from the Agency for its establishment.

Investment services and operations in the Republic of Slovenia may also be implemented by:

• a bank which obtains authorisation from the Bank of Slovenia;
• a bank or a special financial institution in a member state which establishes a subsidiary in the Republic of Slovenia as per the ZBan-1 or is entitled to conduct direct investment services and operations in the Republic of Slovenia as per the ZBan-1;
• a a subsidiary of a bank in a member state which obtains authorisation from the Bank of Slovenia for its establishment and is entitled to conduct direct investment services and operations as per the ZBan-1.

This sub-class includes operations and supervision of financial markets (except those implemented by state authorities), such as:

• commodities exchanges,
• commodities terminal exchanges,
• stock exchanges,
• stock or commodities exchanges.
