Commercial fishing ponds
A commercial fishing pond is stagnant water intended for the marketing of recreational fishing of private interest, from which the migration of fish into other bodies of water is prevented by means of natural or technical measures. Recreational fishing may only be carried out using a fishhook.
A commercial pond must be entered into the Central Register of Aquaculture Facilities and Commercial Ponds (CRA) and into the fishing cadastre.
Only fish farmed at a fish farm may be placed into commercial ponds. In order to place fish, the operator of the activity must acquire a positive opinion of the Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation.
A holder of a commercial pond must have a water permit, must keep appropriate records, and report changes to the fishing cadastre.
