Freight transport by road (49.410)

The right to perform this activity is acquired with a licence for which the company must fulfil the prescribed conditions and provide appropriate staff: 

It applies to:

• freight transport in international road transport,
• freight transport in internal road transport.

Exceptional transport is transport by a vehicle or group of vehicles which alone or together with non-dividable cargo exceeds the prescribed total mass, axis load or dimensions (width, length, height).

Exceptional transport is also transport where the vehicle alone or with cargo is within the limited total permitted mass, axle load or dimensions, but exceeds the limitation on any of these elements that applies to the road or its part.

Exceptional transport may be performed based on a permit for exceptional transport which is issued if the permit issuer finds that the vehicle or cargo cannot be transported from the original place to its destination by rail or other transport means or if the proposer of extraordinary transport proves that transport by such means would cause higher total transport costs in comparison with additional costs of establishing the transport route for road transport.

A permit for exceptional transport that is carried out only on state or on state and municipal roads is issued by the Slovenian Roads Agency. If exceptional transport is carried out on a municipal road, its operator must issue a preliminary consent. A permit for exceptional transport that is carried out only on municipal roads is issued by the municipal road operator if the municipality does not issue a different decree.

• granulated, liquid, gas, in cisterns or differently, collection and transport of milk from farms to dairy,
• transport of vehicles,
• transport of waste (without collection),
• leasing trucks to drivers,
• transport of goods by manual or animal-drawn vehicle.
