Handling of waste electrical and electronic equipment
Waste electrical and electronic equipment
- waste equipment from householders, which emerges in households or the industry, craft and service activities and is due to its nature and quantity similar to waste equipment from households;
- waste equipment that is not waste equipment from households but occurs from equipment marked on the list of products distributed by classes of electrical or electronic equipment;
- waste equipment is equipment including all parts, installed materials and consumable material, which are part of the disposable equipment;
- equipment from households is equipment used in households, including equipment used in industry, craft and service activities, if their use is by nature and method similar to the use in households.
Handling of waste electrical and electronic equipment entails:
- Submission and takeover of waste equipment
The final consumer must:
- submit waste equipment from households to the distributor, municipal public utility provider, or in waste collection centres, operated by the producer or acquirer;
- waste equipment that is not waste equipment from households must be submitted to the distributor, producer or acquirer of equipment.
Prior to the submission to the distributor, producer, acquirer or provider of municipal utility services, the final user must collect or keep the waste equipment separate so that it is not mixed with other waste.
The takeover of waste equipment at the final user is free of charge.
2. Processing and removal of waste equipment
Processing is an activity, connected to waste equipment, when the latter was submitted to the processing centre due to the prevention of pollution, dissolution, crushing or processing before removal. Processing of waste equipment includes every waste processing or removal procedure that is appropriate and applicable for the processing and removal of waste equipment.
