• List of activities that are usually carried out as a craft

  For activities listed on the List of activities usually carried out as a craft, business entities registering these activities must also enter in the register of crafts at the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia (OZS) ex officio.

  This applies for the following activities/services:

  • the production of light weapons;
  • the production of air and gas rifles and guns;
  • the production of hunting and recreational firearms, weapons for personal safety and its ammunition.

• Weapons Act

A legal entity or a sole trader may begin performing activities related to the sale of weapons or the activity of civil shooting range, once a license is obtained from the minister competent for interior matters. A special permit
issued by the Ministry of the Interior is required for individual import, export and transit.

• Defence Act 

Whoever wishes to manufacture army weapons and equipment must first obtain consent from the Ministry of Defence. The production of individual sets or parts
of military weapons and equipment also counts as the production of military weapons and equipment. More detailed conditions and procedures for obtaining this consent is set forth by the Decree on permits and consents for the trade in and production of military weapons and equipment.

• Strategic Materials Act

Prior to the commencement of strategic activities, taxable persons must notify the competent authority and/or obtain permit for carrying out strategic activities.

The permit is issued by the competent authority responsible for chemicals.
