Professional training of service technicians on handling equipment that contains ozone depleting substances and fluorinated greenhouse gases
Professional training of service technicians on handling equipment that contains ozone depleting substances and fluorinated greenhouse gases is performed by providers of training that were selected based on a public call by the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning.
Training providers are at the same time the providers of qualification verification of candidates for service technicians for equipment that contains ozone depleting substances and fluorinated greenhouse gases.
A list of exams is prepared for each training and verification programme:
- Programme A: cooling/air-conditioning/heat pumps
- Programme C: fire extinguishing systems/fire extinguishers
- Programme D: high voltage switching mechanisms
- Programme E: air-conditioning devices in some motor vehicles.
Professional qualification is verified with an exam that encompasses theoretical and practical part. The exam is implemented by an exam committee that is appointed by the training provider.
The training provider must publish a deadline for exams at least once a year. The exam announcement must be sent one month prior to the date of the exam at the latest, i.e. to the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning published on their website.
The training provider is obliged to annually report on training.

Applicants who wish to pursue this activity must register the business activity, and have the appropriate legal status.

Training providers are selected by the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning based on a public call for cooperation at the implementation of the service technicians training.
The public call is open until at least three training providers are not selected for the implementation of training and verifying the qualification of service technicians in individual fields.
The candidate submits an application upon a public call, including the draft of the training programme and the proposal of the list of exams.
The relationship between the competent authority and the training provider is arranged in the contract.
The training provider is entered in the register of service technician training register, managed by the competent authority.
The training provider must dispose of appropriate premises and equipment and have suitable references and staff.

The training provider must provide an annual report to the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning on the provision of training for service technicians and the conduction of examinations prior to 31 January for the previous year.
In the annual report, the training provider reports in detail on:- the content of the training programmes,
- the time and place of training,
- available places,
- the number of participants and instructors,
- scheduled exams,
- actual costs of conducting exams,
- the number of candidates.
The report on training is prepared by the head of training that is appointed by the training provider.
