Raising of sheep and goats
To pursue this activity, an entry permit is required.
The rearing of sheep and goats is a traditional farming activity and is one of the more environmentally friendly forms of livestock production.
The rearing of sheep and goats includes:
- the rearing and breeding of sheep and goats,
- shorn wool production,
- sheep and goat milk production.
Prior to performing this activity, the holder of sheep and goats must register their holding and be entered into the Register of Holders of Farm Animals (EIRŽ).
A holder of sheep and goats must ensure that all of their animals have been properly marked and entered into the Sheep and Goat Records (CRD), that the data on the movement of sheep and goats is accurate and reported to the Sheep and Goat Records in a timely manner, and that the stock of sheep and goats at the holding is reported once a year.
The holder is also obligated to keep a Sheep and Goat Register (RDG) at their holding.
