Amateur radio operator licence

The amateur radio operator licence is a decision of the Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia (AKOS), granting the right to use radio frequencies envisaged for amateur radio and amateur radio satellite service.

The amateur radio operator licence entails:

  • data on the owner of the amateur radio operator licence,
  • allocated call sign,
  • amateur radio operator class,
  • time of validity of the amateur radio operator licence.

To acquire a amateur radio operator licence, the amateur radio operator must submit an application at AKOS. After an administrative and content review, AKOS issues a amateur radio operator licence for a 15-year period.

The owners of amateur radio operator licences are not obliged to make annual payments to AKOS for using radio frequencies.

Renewal term

The amateur radio operator licence is usually issued for 15 years. The amateur radio operator licence is extended upon the owner's proposal.
