Entry in the register of foreign correspondence offices
Prior to the initiation of performance of activities in Slovenia, a foreign correspondence office must be entered in the register of foreign correspondence offices and correspondents. With this entry, the foreign correspondence office obtains accreditation in the Republic of Slovenia.
The application for the entry in the register is lodged by the management of the foreign medium or foreign press agency at the Ministry of Culture.
The following data must be indicated in the proposal for the entry of the correspondence office in the register:
- company name and head office of the press agency or medium publisher, establishing the correspondence,
- the name of the medium,
- data on the registration of the foreign press agency or foreign medium in the country of origin,
- head office of the correspondence in the Republic of Slovenia,
- name and surname of the correspondence manager.

An applicant that establishes a foreign correspondence office must be the publisher/broadcaster of a medium or a foreign press Agency.
The application must be filled in with the data on the company and head office of a foreign correspondence office or the publisher/broadcaster of a medium which establishes the correspondence office.

An applicant must have a medium to be entered in the register. The name of the medium must be stated in the application.

Before the entry in the register of foreign correspondence offices, the applicant must already be registered in its country of origin.
The application must include the data on the registration of the foreign press Agency or foreign mass medium in the country of origin.

A foreign correspondence office must have its head office in the Republic of Slovenia, which must also be stated in the application.

Foreign correspondents are journalists, photojournalists and radio, television and film recorders who, irrespective of their nationality, are full employees of a foreign publisher/broadcaster of a mass medium or a foreign press Agency, or who have concluded a contract with such publisher/broadcaster or Agency and intend to perform their activities in the Republic of Slovenia for at least three (3) months.

Administrative fee for an application: 4.54 €
Administrative fee for issuing a decision: 18.12 €
Renewal term
The ruling on accreditation shall be issued to a foreign correspondence office with a period of validity of one year, and may be renewed, if an application for renewal before the expiry of validity.
