Animal keeper with a concession

An animal keeper with a concession is a person who deals with breeding at an agricultural holding and has a concession for the insemination of animals that are entered into the register at the holding, and must:

  • provide sufficient quantities of nitrogen in containers for the semen;
  • provide a suitable level of hygiene of the insemination equipment;
  • keep their own records regarding insemination in accordance with these Rules;
  • monitor insemination results according to individual female breeding animal or female animal and also keep a list of first inseminations and all repeated inseminations;
  • record fertility problems;
  • care for better fertility.

An animal keeper with a concession must have a registered agricultural holding and must be entered into the Register of Livestock Owners and into the Register of Insemination Providers.

Prior to performing their activities, they must have suitable facilities and equipment and must have provided insemination for at least a year and have entered into an agreement with a semen collection centre.

An animal keeper with a concession must fill out an insemination certificate for pigs, equidae, cattle, and sheep and goats upon each insemination.
