An engineer officer is responsible for the engine room watch on a ship with engine with power of 750 kW or more.
In order to perform this profession one needs to get an authorisation for the rank of an engineer officer of the watch on a ship with engine with power of 750 kW or more.
Conditions

For acquiring the authorisation for the title engineering officer of the watch on a ship with engine power exceeding 750 kW, the individual must fulfil the conditions with regard to appropriate age; they must undergo training, have appropriate navigation experience and be healthy.
The authorisation for the title is issued in Slovene and English.
