Expert workers who carry out foreign exchange transactions

An expert worker who carries out foreign exchange transactions is a natural person responsible for uninterrupted foreign exchange transactions at foreign exchange offices.

Their responsibilities are to carry out foreign exchange transactions such as purchase and sale of cash in foreign currency, verify the authenticity and suitability of cash, and implement suitable security measures.

During business hours, at least one person who has passed the knowledge test within the training programme verified by the Bank of Slovenia must be present.

Conditions

  • Professional examination is a test of knowledge acquired within an education programme verified by the Bank of Slovenia. An education programme is carried out under the auspices of the Bank Association of Slovenia.

    The main contents of an education programme are:

    • regulations on foreign exchange transactions,
    • prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing,
    • recognition of the authenticity and suitability of cash,
    • security aspects of the operation of a foreign exchange office.

     

    Training is followed by a written test of knowledge.

    The price of the education is EUR 320 + VAT.

    Professional examination must be repeated after ten years.
