An installer of boilers and biomass furnaces, heating pumps and solar thermal devices is an individual who installs devices, maintains them, controls their operation and services the systems and devices.
They must have an appropriate education, work experience and professional qualification.
Conditions

Applicants must have:
- at least secondary vocational education acquired on the basis of the educational programme in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or heating;
- or a technical education for sanitary and heating or cooling equipment with at least two years' experience;
- or short vocational education acquired on the basis of the educational programme for a plumber or installer of machine installations with at least five years' experience.

Training is carried out in accordance with the prescribed programme.
Professional competence of installers is established by testing.
Tests of knowledge comprise theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part is carried out in writing or orally. The practical part of the test is composed of an independent implementation of a certain task and of a report on the latter.
Applicants who have passed the test are issued a certificate of professional competence for an installer of individual devices running on renewable energy sources by the training provider. A certificate of professional competence is valid for ten years of the date of its issue. To extend the validity of a certificate, applicants must undergo at least a 10-hour refresher seminar provided by training providers.
