Plant propagation

•  Agricultural Seeds and Propagating Material Act

The production, preparation for the market, import and/or marketing of agricultural seeds and propagating material may carried out only by the suppliers who are entered in the register of suppliers kept by the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Food Safety, Veterinary Sector and Plant Protection (UVHVVR).

The suppliers must provide a responsible expert person who is authorised for fulfilling the supplier's obligations.

• Plant Health Act

The producers of propagating material of certain plants must be entered in the FITO register kept by the UVHVVR. More detailed provisions are stipulated in the Rules on conditions for registration of producers, processors, importers and distributors of plants, plant products and regulated articles and on conditions for issuing plant passports.

• • List of activities that are usually carried out as a craft

For activities listed on the List of activities usually carried out as a craft, business entities registering these activities must also enter in the register of crafts at the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia (OZS) ex officio.

• Applies to the following activities/services:

• • growing seedlings
  • cultivation of ornamental plants, including grasses for transplanting
  • obtaining bulbs, tubers, cuttings, cuttings, saplings
  • cultivation of mushroom mycelium
  • activity of nurseries other than forestry
