Support activities for animal production

• Livestock Farming Act

The Act regulates the following professions or expert staff:

• • Controller,
  • Selector,
  • Senior controller,
  • Evaluators of farm animals and other providers of expert tasks in livestock farming

Applicable to the following activities/services:

• Classification and labelling of beef carcases,
• Assessment of carcass conformity and classification of pork carcases,
• Assessment and classification of sheep, lamb and suckling lamb carcasses on slaughtering lines,    
• Identification and registration of animals: beef, sheep and goats and pigs,
• Keeping of flock, herd and stud books,
• Collection of data at competitions of equine animals.
• Test stations in horse breeding, cattle, pig, sheep, and goat farming,
• Test stations in bee-keeping,
• Other recognised livestock breeding organisations,
• Livestock mating stations,
• Livestock semen collection centre,
• Organisation for embryo transplants in livestock farming
• Queen bee breeding facilities.

• • List of activities usually carried out as a craft

  For activities on the List of activities usually carried out as a craft, business entities registering these activities must also be entered in the register of crafts at the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia (OZS) ex officio.

Applicable to the following activities/services:

• • activity of farriers.

• Decree on supplementary activities in agriculture

  A supplementary farm activity may be implemented after the finality of the permit for the pursuit of supplementary farm activity and after all conditions determined by the sector regulations for the start of an individual supplementary activity are fulfilled.

  • farriery.
